Fun Birthday Party Ideas

Birthday Cakes Online Shipped anywhere in USABirthday parties can be a lot of fun for kids. However, after some time of doing the same routine, kids will eventually get bored! There are some elements of a birthday party that you can’t avoid like singing “Happy Birthday” and cutting a cake. However, there are things you can do to make the actual celebration fun and exciting each time.

Here are three simple, yet exciting ideas for your child’s next birthday party. They’re definitely unconventional, but what makes them great is the fact that the kids will be doing activities they enjoy thoroughly!

1. Take a camping trip. Kids both young and old really enjoy the outdoors! That’s exactly why you could consider planning a birthday camping trip for your child’s next birthday. Allow them to invite a few of their closest friends and ask them to take along their sleeping bags. You can then plan fun outdoor activities like telling ghost stories around a campfire or having swimming races in the lake. The camping party can end with the traditional birthday cake and singing.

2. Have a pool party. Kids love being in a pool! Even if you don’t have a pool of your own, you can still plan a birthday party at the community pool. Get a barbeque grill, hire a clown, and do face painting, all by the poolside. When the kids get hot and sweaty, they can jump into the pool to cool off. They’ll definitely enjoy this kind of birthday party!

3. Take them to the movies. Is there a movie coming out that your birthday baby will want to see with friends? Well, why not make a movie date for the birthday party? Many local movie theaters will allow you to book the entire auditorium for your function. Invite as many kids as you can afford, ask the parents to buy the movie tickets, and you can treat them to their favorite movie snacks like popcorn, candy and sodas.

As you can see, these ideas will definitely make the birthday celebration a lot of fun for your child as well as the invited friends. The meaning behind the celebration will still be highlighted by party hats, banners and a cake, even though the actual activities will be different from what they’re accustomed to.

Try a different idea every year and you’ll be sure to have even more birthday memories than if you threw a typical, traditional birthday bash!

Personalized Gifts for Him on Father’s Day

Gift for MenIt has never been easy to buy gifts for men for Father’s Day. Since birth there has always been a shortage of gifts that work well for the male gender. Think about all the clothing stores you’ve walked in to in your life. No matter how big or small, the boys section has always been tiny and the girls section has been huge. This seems to be the same when boys turn in to men. The selection of gifts for men is still small in comparison.

So now, it is almost time for Father’s Day and you need to get a gift for him. If you buy him a lawn mower or a car cleaning kit, it’s like him buying you a toaster or a mop for your special day.  Think of all the things you could easily buy for yourself and then think about how a man perceives those things for himself. I am sure that they are not perceived in the same way.  So we have to be more creative and think out of the box. No one, whether male or female can turn down a gift that has their name on it. That is why so many people purchase personalized gifts. When you personalize an item, you get well, personal, especially if you engrave the gift with a special inscription.

Does he have a “man cave”? A place where he goes to hang out with his friends like a family room or bar in the house that is just his space? How about presenting him with his very own personalized wall sign that is themed to fit his space or his personality? If he is in to cigars or flasks, why not give him a personalized cigar humidor or a engraved Zippo lighter. If he is a golfer another great gift idea might be a complete indoor putter set. It is great for business trips and office down time. Whatever type of gift you buy for Father’s Day, make it personal and he will keep your gift forever.

Wedding Party Gifts from The Bride

Wedding Party Favors from the BrideWedding party gifts from the bride make your wedding day more special. Each person you selected to have as part of your bridal party are special to you. They could be your sisters, a close relative or the childhood friend you have known all your life. When choosing gifts for your bridal attendants think about personalization. If you select different gifts for each person, make sure that they are close in price. You can elect to have a verse or personalization of a line or two to let each person know how much you mean to them.  Picture frames of the two of you at your fitting, a bridal luncheon, or even from a great time the two of you had in the past would be a perfect gift.

If you plan on having your wedding at the beach, a resort or anywhere that will require some sun and fun, a monogrammed tote or cooler could be the ideal gift. And if you are planning to have your wedding or bachelorette party in Las Vegas, there is a whole line of personalized Vegas T-shirts and tank tops that you could provide for your entire bridal party. Make the gifts fun, and personalized and your day will always be fondly remembered.

If you know that your friends are tight for money you may want to consider this when planning your festivities. I know that when I planned my wedding, I paid for the rental of the bridal party gowns for each of my attendants. We also had little gift bags in each room for each of the wedding attendees complete with a map of the area, an itinerary of the festivities over the next few days, including any rehearsal luncheons, cocktail parties and beach get togethers. We also included waters with our names (bride and groom) printed on the label and information on area attractions.

Gifts from the bride to the wedding attendees can be as simple as personalized chocolate dipped fortune cookies, or mini votive candles at each place setting. Think about your budget and the theme of the wedding and plan your gifts from the bride accordingly. You may not think that gifts are in your budget, however each person who attends your wedding day are there to support you and your husband to be. Each probably spent time thinking about a gift for you, had their hair done, or bought a new item of clothing. They were thinking about you – so this is your chance to thank them for sharing in your special day. – These gifts, however do not take the place of thank you notes that should be written and mailed within 4 weeks of your wedding, sooner if possible.

Budgeting Gifts to Present at your Wedding Rehearsal Dinner

There is some etiquette that goes along with the rehearsal dinner, but the main question may be, who to invite? This is really left up to the bride and groom. The dinner does not have to be extravagant and can actually be as small you would like. You can also find a restaurant that can block off a small area for you and the wedding party, instead of having to rent a space or you can plan to have your rehearsal dinner at your home of the home of a family member or good friend. This can cut down on the cost dramatically, but still give you the privacy you need.

The rehearsal dinner is the perfect place to present gifts to those you have invited to part of the wedding party. Your bridesmaids, your groomsmen, and parents of both the bride and the groom should all be presented with a small token of your appreciation. These gifts do not need to break the bank, but do remember that in most cases, these special people in your lives have agreed to not only share with your in your special day, but most likely also planned parties, paid for their own wedding attire, and sometimes may have traveled to your event.  Giving an engraved gift that is monogrammed can add a personal touch. Think of gifts like scented votive candles in a holder, beautiful frames that are personalized with a line or two that lets them know how much their attendance means to you or any other gifts that will fit with their personalitiy, but also be special coming from you.

Choosing Rehearsal Dinner Gift Ideas can be fun and will not put a big dent in your budget. You will find that these gifts are small, but they really do show the people that you love that you do care about them. Budgeting Wedding Party Gifts for Groomsmen

Groomsmen gifts as well as other wedding party gifts need to be figured into your budget when planning your wedding. Current statistics show that the average cost of wedding is more than $26,000. This cost, however, is only the average. There are many weddings that cost more, but quite a few are less expensive. It is important for both the bride and the groom to share their expectations for the wedding ceremony and reception along with determining what a reasonable budget for the entire event should be. The budget should include the normal expenses such as the dress and flowers, but it should also include the little things that are often forgotten such as the Wedding Party gifts for Groomsmen and other members of the wedding party.

Wedding Party gifts for Groomsmen generally fall in to two different categories, traditional and non-traditional. Traditional gifts can include items which can be monogrammed such as silver flasks, silver key chains or silver money clips. Other gifts can include silver card carrying cases, a leather address book, a cocktail shaker or etched beer mugs. Clocks, watches or personalized lighters also fall in to the traditional category.

For those looking to be different, non-traditional Wedding Party gifts for Groomsmen open up a wide possibility of choices. Gifts in this category may include tickets to sporting events, concerts or plays. If a groomsman plays golf, the wedding couple may choose to pay for a day of green fees. An easy alternative is to give a wedding party member is a gift certificate. Gift certificates can be for the purchase of music, books or even a nice dinner out. Other gifts can include a spa treatment or massage. While a little more expensive, outdoor gifts are perfect for the outdoor enthusiast. Outdoor gifts can include white water rafting, a hot air balloon ride or maybe a weekend at a cabin.

The best choice a bride and groom can make is to make a budget and stick to it. By having realistic expectations about their big day, they can avoid overspending on items such as the flowers and Wedding Party gifts for Groomsmen and other members of the bridal party. When paying for a wedding, a couple needs to keep an eye not only on the obvious expenses, but the little ones as well.

Planning a Destination Wedding

Tips and ideas on how to plan a destination weddingAre you looking to make your wedding more than just a traditional ceremony? You are starting your life together, embarking on an adventure. Why not have your wedding symbolize your personalities? Choose to have a destination wedding and it will be one ceremony that will not be forgotten. Make sure you follow this theme throughout from beginning to end, right down to the wedding party gifts for your destination wedding. You won’t be sorry that you did.

Start by deciding where you would like to hold your destination wedding. This location should have significant meaning for you and your spouse or should be somewhere exciting or exotic that you would love to visit. Start with places you would love to see, or places that only the two of you have been, but would like to revisit. Make quite a few selections during this phase as you can always eliminate those that are not feasible in the future. Start researching each place and narrow it down to your top three choices. You can also enlist the  help of a travel agent or wedding planner at your wedding destination location to help with the smaller details and find out what other couples have done to make your planning easier.

Next, you will need to set a budget. Start by determining how many guest you would like to invite to your destination wedding. Make sure to factor in all travel expenses as well as the money needed to start your new life together.  Make sure to include any destination type attendant gifts for the bridesmaids and groomsmen. Begin planning your guest list. Determine how much you are willing to pay, if anything towards your attendants travel to your wedding. Remember, not everyone will be able to attend your destination wedding, so you may want to budget a gathering before or after your wedding for those who want to share in your special day, but don’t have the time off or the funds to travel. Don’t put this off as it can take a great deal of time to determine those who will be able to attend and those who will not.

Compare wedding packages at your desired locations. The more that is included in your package, the easier it will be for you. Don’t just look at price, but also what is included, any free rooms deals with so many guests rooms purchased, free appetizers, or flowers etc. and read as many reviews as you can find written by those who have chosen to have their weddings at these locations in the past. You will also want to be sure you research the marriage requirements, especially if you are marrying out of the country. Make sure to announce your intentions at least 6 months in advance so your guests will have time to plan and make arrangements for time off. You can either call each one or send “Save the Date” announcements. This will also give you a general idea of how many people to expect at the destination and how many may not go, but would love to attend a special gathering either before or after your wedding day.

Have you planned a destination wedding? Feel free to add to the post above about unique things you did, or what you learned that you think will help others plan their wedding day.

Wedding Party Gift Ideas from the Bride and Groom

Wedding party gifts are a great way to show your appreciation to your attendants. You’ve chosen your very best friends to be in your wedding and you will want to thank them for sharing your special day with you. Traditional gifts include jewelry or engraved keepsakes.  The bride will want to select something special for her bridesmaids and the maid of honor and the groom will want to make sure not to leave out the groomsmen and best man.

Typically, the attendants’ gifts are given at the rehearsal dinner, but you may chose to present any time before the wedding. If the groom so chooses he can give his gifts at the rehearsal dinner or at the time he has his bachelor party.  Another idea for the bride would be to host a bridesmaid luncheon, tea or brunch to be held within a few days of the wedding and leave wrapped gifts on each attendant’s place setting.

Some ideas to consider for your bridesmaids would be personalized frames, where you could include a special picture remembrance of your wedding day inside, the personalized frames idea would also be an ideal wedding party gift for the bride and grooms mothers and for fathers of the bride too!  Don’t forget your flower girl and ring bearer. They are a special part of your day and should also be given a thoughtful personalized frame or piece of jewelry.

St. Patrick’s Day Fun and Festivities Home and Abroad

Slainte! Irish SignSt. Patrick’s Day is a day of fun and celebration. What used to be a religious holiday has turned in to a day of parades, wearing green and drinking. I thought it would be fun to put together some trivia on how St. Patrick’s Day is celebrated around the world. While I might not hit every celebration, please don’t feel slighted if I miss yours – I just picked those festivities I thought most interesting.

The shortest St Patrick’s Day parade in the world takes place in Dripsy, Cork in Ireland. The parade lasts just 100 yards and travels between the village’s two pubs. On the other hand, the largest celebrations are in Dublin and in Downpatrick, County Down, where Saint Patrick is rumored to be buried. The St. Patrick’s Festival is a weeklong party with 82 floats, bands, and performers and is watched by more than 30,000 people!

In Great Britain, the Queen used to bestow bowls of shamrocks, flown over from Ireland to soldiers in the British Army that were primarily from Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.  In London, the water in the fountains around Trafalgar Square is dyed green, as is also done in an area known as Five Points in Columbia, South Carolina and as well as the fountains in Savannah, Georgia.

Chicago goes all out and dyes their river green for the festivities, as does Jamestown, New York’s Chadakoin River get dyed green and in Indianapolis, its main canal is dyed green too. Some cities have huge parades and parties for an entire week and some go so far as to paint 12 city blocks green like Missouri University of Science and Technology , St Pat’s Board Alumni, who use mops to paint the area before the annual parade.

No matter how your town celebrates St. Patrick’s Day you can get in on the festivities too. Plan a party at your house, or organize one at your local Irish Pub. There are many items that can also make this date memorable with a personalized touch. Barware, signs and Irish frames are just some of the items that can be personalized just in time for your event.
